Beijing Subway Line 11, 12 & 14


Subway Line 11

Departure: Fragrance Hill 

Terminal: Songjiazhuang 

Other Information: So far, Beijing Subway Line 11 is still being planned. It is reported that this line will go through Fragrance Hill in the northwest and Songjiazhuang in the southeast via the southwest of Beijing City, forming the second loop line of Beijing subway lines with Subway Line 10 which will have been operating since the 2008 Olympics.


The construction of the first phase from Huoqiying to Dahongmen is expected to start between 2008 and 2010.


Subway Line 12

Departure: Mentougou
Terminal: Langfang
Other Information: Beijing Subway Line 12 is an oblique line which links the southeast and northwest areas of Beijing. It will run from Mentougou District in the northwest to Langfang in the southeast, serving for the important areas like Beijing Olympic Green and Zhong Guan Cun.


The foundation of this line will be the deepest of all the Beijing subway lines. It will run through the Temple of Heaven, and the famous Tiananmen Square, and will connect with many other subway lines, including the Subway Line 1, Subway Line 2, Subway Line 9, and the Subway Line 10. The construction of this line is expected to be started in 2015, and will greatly relieve the strain on Beijing public transport.


Subway Line 14 

Departure: Lugou Bridge Terminal: Wangjing 
Length: 42.1 kilometers (26.16 miles) 

Number of Stops: 24 

Other Information: Subway Line 14, a half loop line, will run from Lugouqiao in the southwest to Wangjing in the northeast via Beijing South Railway Station and Beijing Railway Station. It will connect Fengtai District with the electric city in the northeast of Beijing.


The construction of the Beijing Subway Line 14 is also divided into two phases which are scheduled to start construction in 2008 and be completed at the end of 2012. This line goes from the southwest to the northeast of Beijing City, and will connect with many other Beijing Subway lines, including the Subway Line 1, Subway Line 2, Subway Line 6 and Subway Line 10.
