Subway Line 15

Other Information: Subway Line 15 goes through the north areas of Beijing. It will start from the Zhongyang Dangxiao in Haidian District, and end at Shunyi District through the new International Exhibition Center.


The construction of this line is divided into two phases. The first phase will end at Wangjing Station, and the second phase, also known as Shunyi Line, will stretch to Shunyi District, to the north of Beijing Capital International Airport. It is reported that the construction of the first phase will be started in 2009 and finished in 2011, and by the year 2014, the whole line will be completely open to traffic.


This line will connect the Zhongguancun Science Park with Shunyi Aviation Economic Zone, and have a vital role to play in the development of Haidian District. The Subway Line 15, along with the Subway Line 1, Subway Line 6 and Subway Line 10, will greatly shorten the distance from Haidian District, Shunyi District, Tongzhou District to Yizhuang Industrial Development Zone.


Subway Line 16

Departure: Huilongguan 
Terminal: Jijiamiao
Other Information: Subway Line 16 is still under planning, and it is said that this line will start from Huilongguan Station in the north to the Jijiamiao Station in Fengtai District in the south of Beijing.


In order to relieve the traffic congestion in the north area of Beijing, the government has planned three subway lines. These include this line, the Subway Line 8 which is due to be opened in June, 2008, and the existing Subway Line 13. After the construction of this line, passengers could transfer to the Subway Line 9 from this line at Guogongzhuang Station.
