This morning, we will transfer you to the train station to take the high-speed train to Suzhou, the back garden of Shanghai. In about 30 minutes, you will arrive and meet your Suzhou guide at the station and then a comfortable drive will take you to the hotel. For hundreds of years, Suzhou is well-known for preserving many charming and typical classical gardens, almost all of which were the local wealthy families' residences. Your first destination today will be the largest garden in Suzhou - the Humble Administrator's Garden, which is also one of the top four gardens in China, enjoying the same high fame with the imperial Summer Palace in Beijing. Until now, its top landscape architecture still inspire many gardening designers.
After that, you will take a short cruise along the canal for about 20 minutes to reach the 800-year old Pingjiang Road, which is a good place for a nice walk. When walking on the riverside pedestrian road, you will not only see the old stone bridges, some former residences of the famous people, but also lots of old buildings which have been converted to cafes, tea houses, small shops, restaurants as well as boutique hotels in the side alleys. You will have a lovely meal in one of the restaurants overlooking the canal at your own expense, and afterwards, finish the walk with a coffee in a coffee shop.
The rest of the day will be spent traveling around the Garden of the Master of Nets which is a representative Suzhou garden combining natural landscape with the host's residence harmoniously.
