Daily Itinerary Summary

Day 01: Entry Beijing 
Disembarking the plane, you will find our guide waiting for you outside the arrival lobby in Beijing Capital Airport. With the guide and driver's accompany, you will check into the 4-star Holiday Inn Central Plaza Hotel that we booked for you in advance. Near the hotel, there are some local restaurants, where you can have a simple dinner if you feel hungry. Alternatively, you can wander around to get familiar with the surroundings. Then, have a good rest in the hotel for the next day's exploration.

Day 02: Beijing 
After the breakfast in the hotel, our guide will brief you and other group members on the following tour schedule. Your exploration in Beijing first begins with the Tiananmen Square located at the center of Beijing city. Grand state ceremonies are usually held in the square on important occasions. Afterwards, you will proceed to the most majestic imperial garden, the Forbidden City, the palace unite for twenty-four emperors during the Ming and Qing dynasties. After nearly two hours' sightseeing in the garden, an a la carte lunch (valued CNY150 per pax, and included in our price) in a nice restaurant will be specially prepared for you instead of most cheap restaurants of low quality. Relax your feet for a while, and we continue our exploration to the Temple of Heaven. The temple, also literally called the Altar of Heaven, is a complex of religious buildings, which used to be a holy place praying for good harvest. Our today's last stop is the Red Theater, where you can witness the most exciting and lively Kung Fu Show in China.

Forbidden City, Beijing

Day 03: Beijing 
Driving about 70 kilometers to Yanqing County, you will reach the most majestic section of the Great Wall, Badaling, which is also the most typical and best-preserved great wall of Ming Dynasty. It stretches along the rolling steep mountains, which used to be an important military pass in war time. Climbing up the wall, you can have a bird's view of the whole low-lying land along with the enchanting scenery. Or just wandering around, you will sense the age-old history of the Great wall. Visit a jade factory next. By the way, your lunch will not be arranged by us, for the restaurants may not up to your taste, and the food they offer are in poor quality. So you'd better to have a big breakfast in the hotel before you set off, and pack some snacks in case of starving. Afterwards, we will head to the Sacred Way. The 2 kilometers long Sacred Way is the major passage to the Ming Tomb, directly leading to the gate of Changling Tomb. When proceeding back to the downtown area, you will have a glimpse at the appearance of Bird's Nest (Olympic National Stadium) on the bus ride.

Terracotta Warriors Museum, Xian

Day 04 : Beijing Xian  
Another interesting day starts with a visit to the Summer Palace, a stunning imperial garden. Covering an area of 300.59 hectares (742.8 acres), the Summer Palace radiates fully the natural beauty and the grandeur of garden architecture, composed mainly of Longevity Hill (Wanshou Shan) and Kunming Lake. Then visit a pearl store. You will enjoy an a la carte lunch (valued CNY150 per person and included in our price) with a wide variety of choices at a well-appointed restaurant. Afterwards, you will proceed to the old Hutong area, which is peculiar to Beijing. As the living place for the local dwellers for centuries, Hutongs have been branded with cultural richness as time went on. When wandering in the small lanes and the courtyards, you may feel as if you were visiting a folk art museum. After a two hours flight, you will meet our guide in Xian Xianyang Airport, and they will help you check into to the five stars Sheraton Hotel.

Xian City Wall

Day 05: Xian 
Hit on the road in the morning, and you will proceed to the Terracotta Warriors and Horses Museum, located 30 kilometers to the north of Xian city. It is definitely the best name card for the ancient city, which is not to be missed for any visitors to China. The museum is reputed as the largest underground military museum, and there are three pits open to the public. Numerous clay warriors, weapons and bronze chariots as well as horses will leap into your eyesight with their distinct looks. With its grandest scale, high-tech construction and art merit, the museum makes all visitors stunned at rare works. Then visit a pottery-making factory. After a special and authentic homely cooked a la carte lunch (valued at CNY100.00 per person and included in our price) at a local family, you will visit the Small Wild Goose Pagoda, which was built of brick with a more delicate appearance than the grand Big Wild Goose Pagoda. This pagoda attaches symbol meaning to the culture relic from Tang dynasty. The whole complex is composed of the pagoda itself, Jianfu Temple and Xian museum. Afterwards, you will be warmly treated with the famous Dumplings Dinner, which is a specialty in Xian. Tonight will highlighted by a marvelous Tang Dynasty Music and Dance Show that we booked for you, which draws a sweet end for today's tour.

Day 06: Xian 
Today's journey begins with the ancient City Wall, located at the central area of Xian. Constructed during Ming Dynasty, the present wall is the best-preserved city wall in China, going through about 600 years' ups and downs. The strongly fortified wall used to be the most powerful defense system surviving the warships. Head to the Shaanxi Provincial History Museum, and you will take another lesson of Shaanxi history and ancient civilization. There are about 370,000 exhibits in display, mainly including bronze ware, tomb frescos, pottery figures, ceramic ware, construction materials, bronze mirrors, currencies, gold, silver & jade ware. Almost at lunch time, an a la carte lunch (valued CNY120 per person and included in our price) will prepared at a nice local restaurants. After rallying your strength, we continue our tour to the Great Mosque, which located at an alley near West Street. With a far-reaching history of 1,250 years, the mosque still erects in its grandeur after several times' restoration. After visit the mosque, you will have some free time to develop your own exploration in the market.

Day 07: Xian Guilin
Two hours' flight will get you to Guilin soon in the morning, and our guide in Guilin will wait for you in the airport. The first destination in Guilin is the Reed Flute Cave, about 31 kilometers from the airport. The cave takes its shape on account of karst process, with a great deal of stalactite clusters inside, which seems an underground palace full of fairytales, particular under the sparkling lights. Wandering inside, you may feel lost in a wonder land. Then visit a sea water pearl store. Towards afternoon, we will drive you to the 5-star Sheraton Hotel that we booked for you.

Day 08: GuilinYangshuoGuilin
Appreciate the Li River scenery by cruising down from Guilin to Yangshuo. As the lunch box on the ship cannot be up to your taste, please have a big breakfast at the hotel this morning. Disembark at Yangshuo and we will transfer you to the rural Yangshuo for scenery sightseeing. You also have a chance to get a close touch with a village family on the way. Then we will drive back to Guilin and visit the Elephant Trunk Hill. The shape of the mountain looks like an elephant dipping the water from the river, and that's why the mountain gets the name.

Day 09: GuilinChongqing
Take a morning flight to Chongqing, before you take the cruise ship, you can grasp the beak to visit the visit the Liberation Monuments, a landmark of Chongqing City. Then drop by the Panda House in Chongqing Zoo and Ci Qi Kou ancient town. By the way, Chongqing is a city rich in snacks, so the lunch is on your side. Check in at the luxurious President No. 8 Cruise Ship, which departs from Chongqing at about 22:00, your three nights relaxing Yangtze River cruise begins.

Day 10: Shibaozhai
Get up early, and you can enjoy your buffet breakfast on the ship. The most beautiful scene should be the river mist curling upwards in the morning breeze, which is a perfect moment for photo shooting. At about 14:00, the ship will arrive at the Shibaozhai, where you will have your onshore excursion. There is an abrupt giant rock standing at the river bund, with steep cliffs surrounded by the water. The 12-story wood tower reaches along the hill up to the sky, which is the highlight of the scenic area. In the evening, you will be invited to attend the Captain's Welcome Party.

Yangtze River Cruise

Day 11: BadongXiling GorgeSandouping
Begin the passage with Qutang Gorge, which is the shortest but the most dangerous and majestic of Three Gorges. Later we will pass the Wu Gorge. It is the most beautiful section, where you will feel sailing in a long winding gallery endowed with deep valleys and jagged mountains. Disembark at Badong for an excursion to the Shennong Stream. The trip features natural beauty and an exciting boat ride drifting along the crystal stream. The pea boat allows you to experience a speedy adventure and have a close look at mossyrocks, verdant plants, plank roads, ancient coffins and precious animals. The unique songs of the local Tujia people are very impressive. Then continue sailing into the western section of Xiling Gorge. Dock overnight at Sandouping, close to the Three Gorges Dam.

Day 12: YichangShanghai
After the breakfast, disembark for an excursion to the under constructed Three Gorges Dam, the largest Hydraulic engineering project in the world. The dam is about 600 kilometers long in plan, when it is completed, it will be the most outstanding wonder accomplished by human. Then you will go back to the ship to handle the check-out procedures. Our guide in Yichang will pick up you on board, and transfer you to Yichang airport for the onward flight to Shanghai city. Upon your arrival, our Shanghai guide will come to your service. You will check into the 4-star Grand Mercure Shanghai Zhongya Hotel, and then take a good rest.

Shanghai Bund

Day 13: Shanghai
Today's journey is filled with Shanghai Museum, Yuyuan Garden, a silk shop, the Bund, Nanjing Road, which allows you to view the city from the aspects of history, local life and modernization respectively. Then visit an old cultural street in Shanghai. A la carte lunch (valued CNY120 per pax, and included in our price) will be arranged for you at noon. You guide and driver will accompany you back the hotel in the end of the tour and you may say goodbye to them at the hotel lobby.

Day 14: Departure from Shanghai
Your memorable travel in China comes to an end today. Please check out of the hotel before 12:00 and find your own way to the airport. There are two airports available in Shanghai, Pudong and Hongqiao airport. Pudong Airport mainly operates direct international flights to many cities in America, Europe, and Oceania, including New York, Chicago, San Francisco and Los Angeles in US, Vancouver and Toronto in Canada, London in UK, as well as Sydney and Melbourne in Australia. As your hotel is quite near the Shanghai Railway Station, you can walk about 350 yards to the station to take the airport shuttle bus line 5 (CNY25) to the airport directly. The Hongqiao Airport only has some international routes connecting Asia, such as Tokyo in Japan, Gimpo in South Korea, Hong Kong, Macau, and Taipei. You can walk to Shanghai Railway Station to take the subway line 1 to South Shaanxi Road, where you can transfer to line 10 to the Terminal 1 of the airport. Take the Exit 1 and you will see the terminal building.

Important note:

To the airports:
Shanghai has two airports: Hongqiao Airport (9 miles (15 km) west of the center of Shanghai) and Pudong Airport (19 miles (30km) southeast of Shanghai). Please make sure you go to the right one for departure.

Best way to Airports:
Beijing Trip suggests you book a taxi at the Front Desk of your hotel to make sure you won't stand outside the hotel entrance with your luggage waiting for a taxi. The trip to Pudong Airport will take about one hour at 150 -170 RMB and it needs a 20 minutes drive for the Hongqiao Airport at 50 RMB. Hotel shuttle buses are available every hour to the airport at 50 RMB per person. For details please contact the Front Desk of the hotel.
