Badaling, Longqing Gorge and Kangxi Grassland Under Reconstruction

According to Yanqing County, the reconstruction of the Badaling Great Wall, Longqing Gorge and Kangxi Grassland are in process.

Badaling Great Wall: length of the wall to be doubled
The Badaling Great Wall has been extended on both directions and a section of 3,700-meter (4046.37 yards) long wall will be opened to tourists. By then, the length of the Badaling will be twice as that before.

Longqing Gorge: a wetland park built
A wetland park covering 16.67 hectares (41.18 acres) has been built in the Longqing Gorge. The reconstruction of the park will be finished in June, 2008.

Kangxi Grassland: irrigation system improved
Kangxi Grassland will adopt the water from sewage treatment plant as the water for irrigation. The new Kandxi Grassland will welcome tourists before the 2008 Beijing Olympics.

Beijing: Temperature to Fall

It is reported that a strong cold air will arrive in Beijing around January 11th. This week, there will be strong wind and a sharp fall of temperature.

Price of Discounted Train Tickets to Remain Unchanged

According to Chinese Ministry of Railways, the price of the train tickets will remain unchanged in the course of the transportation from January 23 to March 2, 2008.

The ticket price of the trains at reduced price will not change, including that of the new air-conditioned trains, while the ticket price for the D-trains will not go up.

Beijing-Shenyang D-Trains to Add More Carriages

Three D-trains between Beijing and Shenyang North Railway Station have been equipped with eight more carriages since January 3rd.

So far, there are seven couples of D-trains between Beijing and Shenyang North Railway Station. Among them, the trains D5/6, D7/8 and D9/4 are added eight more carriages, and each can transport about 600 more passengers once.

From January 3rd, the interlock trains of D4, D8 and D9 run between the two cities every other day; from January 4th, the interlock trains of D5, D6 and D7 are in operation every two days.

Recently, twelve more long-distance bus tickets outlets were set up near some subway stations of Beijing.

Besides, service networking has been realized between the coach stations of Beijing and Hengshui (in Hebei Province), between that of Beijing and Tianjin, and people can buy return tickets of the two cities in the capital.
