Beijing: Tiananmen Square Under Restriction

Due to the Seventeenth National People's Congress being held in Beijing from October 15th to 21st, the government will adopt traffic management in the Tiananmen Square and some other places.

Electric signs will be set in these places as guides for the passing vehicles. During this time, people would better pay more attention to the bulletin and take public transport.

Near the Great Hall of the People and the Tiananmen Square:

1. From two hours and five minutes ahead of each meeting, the roads in the west of the Tiananmen Square and in the south of the Great Hall of the People will be closed to traffic and people, and vehicles with the special admission can travel through.

2. From one hour before the start of the meeting, and from ten minutes before the end, the roads in the east of the Tiananmen Square will be opened to the public buses and non-motor vehicles.

3. From one hour and ten minutes before the start of the meeting and from fifteen minutes before the end, the roads in the west of the Great Hall of the People will be closed to all public and private vehicles and people.

In addition, Wenxing Dongjie (文兴东街), the roads from Liuliqiao (六里桥) to Guang'anmenqiao (广安门桥), and other places are restricted to traffic to varying degrees.

Beijing: Changping to Present the Fourth Apple Cultural Festival

It is reported that Changping District will present the Fourth Apple Cultural Festival from October 20th to November 10th.

During the festival, about 100,000 entrance tickets for ten natural attractions of Changping District will be granted to people for free. Among them, approximately 30,000 tickets will be given to 1500 families who cultivate orchards, and these tickets will be finally given to those who visit the orchards.

On October 20th, an exhibition of apple will be held in Jingshan Park, and over 20,000 tickets will be presented to people on the spot. Besides, people can get some tickets in the opening ceremony of the cultural festival on November 2nd.

Recreational Flying Prohibited in Beijing This October

According to Beijing Tourism Administration, the recreational flying activities in Beijing attractions will be prohibited from 00:00 of October 13th till the end of this month. During that period, the flying facilities in and near the attractions will be closed to tourists.

Beijing: Bus No.919 Directly Leading to Badaling National Forest Park

For people's convenience of enjoying the red leaves in autumn, a bus line of No. 919 directly leading to the Badaling National Forest Park (八达岭国家森林公园) has been opened up since October 10th.

At present, the red leaves are most charming, and people could take the buses to the forest park. The buses depart from Deshengmen (德胜门), stop only at Madian (马甸) in the halfway, and they run about every 20 minutes. It takes only one hour to finish the trip and the ticket fare is CNY 12. The first run from Deshengmen is at 07:00, and the last return run is at 15:00. If there are more passengers, more buses will be under operation.

Besides, there are trains to the forest park.

Train No. 6427 (Beijing North Railway Station-Shacheng) (北京北站-沙城) departs from Beijing North Railway Station at 08:29. You can get off at Qinglongqiao (青龙桥) Station at about 10:53, and then walk to the Badaling National Forest Park.

Train No. A237 (Beijing North Railway Station-Badaling) (北京北站-八达岭) departs from Beijing North Railway Station at 08:07 and arrives at Qinglongqiao Station at about 09:41. This train is available at weekends.

In addition, tourists can go to other attractions to enjoy the red leaves, like the Ming Tombs, Mutianyu Great Wall, Longqing Gorge, Yunju Temple and Hongluo Temple.

Beijing: Ox Street to Closed to Traffic This Saturday Morning

The Ramadan Festival will be held in Beijing Ox Street Mosque this Saturday, and from 07:00 to 12:00 of that day, the street will be closed to traffic.

During that time, vehicles are prohibited from Niujie Beikou (牛街北口) to Niujie Nankou (牛街南口) Stop, and they could detour along Baiguanglu (白广路) and Jiaozi Hutong (教子胡同). Public buses scheduled to travel through the mosque will slightly change the routes.

The buses of No. 10 (Beijing Railway Station-Nancaiyuan) (北京站-南菜园) will detour to Guang'anmennei Dajie (广安门内大街), Nanxiangejie (南线阁街), Caiyuanjie (菜园街) and Baizhifang Xijie (白纸坊西街), and then go along the original route.

The buses of No. 626 from Cuilin Xiaoqu to Jinwuxing Fuzhuangcheng (翠林小区-金五星服装城) will go along Baizhifang Dongjie (白纸坊东街), Caishikou Dajie (菜市口大街), Guang'anmennei Dajie and Niujie Beikou. The buses of this route from Jinwuxing Fuzhuangcheng to Cuilin Xiaoqu (金五星服装城-翠林小区) will go through Nanxiangejie, Caiyuanjie and Baizhifang Xijie, then along its own route.

The buses of No. 717 from Caihuying Qiaodong to Dongbeiwang Zhonglu (菜户营桥东-东北旺中路) will pass through Baizhifang (白纸坊) and Guang'anmen Nanjie (广安门南街). The buses of this route from Dongbeiwang Zhonglu to Caihuying Qiaodong (东北旺中路-菜户营桥东) will go through Guang'anmennan Binhelu (广安门南滨河路) and Baizhifang, then return to the normal route.

The buses of No. 48 (Qianmen-Chengnan Jiayuanbei) (前门-城南嘉园北) will travel through Baizhifang Dongjie, Caishikou Dajie and Guang'anmennei Dajie, and then go along the original route.
