Exhibition of Chang'e-1 Lunar Probe Held in Beijing Planetarium

At present, an exhibition featuring Chang'e-1 Lunar Satellite is being held in the new exhibition hall of Beijing Planetarium (?????).

Beijing Planetarium, the first planetarium in China, is located in No.138, Xizhimenwai Dajie (??????), Xicheng District. The latest photo of the lunar sent by the Chang'e-1 Lunar Satellite is displayed in the new exhibition hall, and it has attracted many people. In the planetarium, people can gain further insight into the nature of the lunar and the achievements that China has made on the lunar probe.

Beijing Subway: Line 10, Olympic Branch Line & Airport Extension Completed

It is reported that the construction of Beijing Subway Line 10 have been completed, and it will be in service before July, 2008 along with the Olympic Branch Line and Airport Extension.

The Subway Line 10 was completed 5 days in advance, at present the fit-out work of the three subway lines goes well. The new trains have arrived in Beijing and the trial run will be fully conducted in the middle of December, 2007.

Beijing Public Bus No.666 Replaces 728 Zhi

According to Beijing Public Transport Holdings, Ltd., the former Bus No.728 Zhi (728?) has been replaced by the Bus No.666 since November 29th. The bus route, midway stops and the operation hours remain unchanged.

Beijing Ski Resorts to Welcome Tourists

From this weekend, the ski resorts in the suburb of Beijing will officially welcome their tourists in succession. The fees will remain unchanged, varying from CNY 100 for two hours to CNY 300 for a whole day.

So far, the snow-making has been completed in Beijing ski resorts. Huaibei International Ski Resort will accept the tourists on November 30th, and Shijinglong Ski Resort and Badaling Ski Resort will be opened respectively on December 1st and 2nd. For those beginners who want to have a try, Yunfoshan Ski Resort is a good choice.

Some ski resorts offer favorable treatment during the first several days. In the Yunfoshan Ski Resort, skiers will only need to buy the entrance charge before December 5th. On December 2nd, visitors to the Badaling Ski Resort can ski for free.

Beijing Parks: New Electronic Yearly Tickets to Sold

From 2008, ten parks in Beijing will adopt electronic tickets, and the former paper yearly tickets will be replaced by electronic ones scheduled to be sold from December 15, 2007.

It is expected that in 2008, ten parks in Beijing will abandon paper tickets completely, and people without yearly tickets can also paid the entrance charge by 'Yikatong' IC (Integrated Circuit) cards. They are: Summer Palace, Temple of Heaven, Beihai Park, Fragrant Hills Park, Beijing Zoo, Beijing Botanical Garden, Yuyuantan Park, Beijing Zhongshan Park (??????), Jingshan Park (????) and Taoran Park (???).

Except for the above-mentioned ten parks, the new electronic yearly tickets are also valid in other six parks, namely, Grand View Garden, Lianhuachi Park, Youth Lake Park (?????), Beijing International Sculpture Park (???????), Haidian Park (????) and Shuangxiu Park (????).

The new yearly tickets will be sold from December 15, 2007 to January 15, 2008. People can buy them in the sixteen parks from 08:30 to 16:30 daily during this period. These tickets are valid from January 1, 2008 to January 31, 2009, and have three kinds, CNY 50, CNY 100 and CNY 200.

The electronic yearly tickets only need to be activated once a year, and people can add the yearly tickets service on the 'Yikatong' IC cards. After January 15, 2008, people who want to buy the yearly tickets can go to the service counter of Beijing Zhongshan Park, or dial 010-66055431 for more information.

First Int'l Chinese Antique Fair to Held in Beijing Hotel This Friday

From November 30th to December 4th, the first Beijing International Chinese Antique Fair (BICAF) will be held in the Golden Hall of Beijing Hotel. The antiques cover bronzes, Chinese porcelains, lacquer wares, iron wares, champleve enamel ware, jade articles, silk and other kinds.

During the fair, collectors from different countries and regions will present their precious Chinese antiques. Famous foreign collectors include Christopher Bruckner (British), Laurence Paul (British), Cedrien Curien (French) and Mehmet Hassan (Thais) will bring along their treasures. People can have the chance to appreciate many dispersed Chinese heritage. This Chinese antique fair is the grandest in the world in recent years.

To ensure the order of the fair and the security of the antiques, people should make reservations by telephone, and buy the tickets at your appointed time in Zhihua Temple (???).
