Hi Gail-
My wife and I are going on the same cruise and arrive in Beijing the evening of the 10th. Have you found a hotel yet? We'd like to take a tour to the Badaling Great Wall on the morning of the 11th. We've found a private tour that is charging $200 per person for tour and transportation to ship. If you're interested, we may be able to get a better price.

hi Gail,
go to the Beijing South Railway station to take the intercity express train to Tianjin. then take a taxi to Shi Min Guang Chang (Civilian Palaza), and then bus No. 513 to the ferry terminal.

we are arriving bejing airport and want to go to tinajin, what is the cost of taxi or bus

i suggest you take the express train from Beijing to Tianjin.

we are on the Diamond Princess arriving in Tiaanzin on Oct 10 and heading to Beizing for 2 days prior to joining a tour in China. We need to go from the cruise ship terminal to beizing.
Anyone else on the ship doing the same? we can team up and share the taxi costs. We would like to take the bullet train from Tianzin to beizing. Contact us at docton_72@yahoo.com

hi Sofia,
when will you arrive at the port?
there are intercity express train from Tanggu (the district where the port is) to Beijing, and the departure time are: 08:33, 09:24, 13:44, 17:09, 18:18, 19:24, 19:59. if time permit, i suggest you take a taxi to Tanggu Railway station and take the train back to Beijing, and then take a taxi to your hotel. you can save much if you travel by train.

sofia ( Canada ) :8/29/2011 9:54:59 AM

We are also going to be on the Diamond Princess arriving in Tianjin on Oct. 10; we plan to take a taxi from there to our hotel in Beijing, perhaps we can share the cost of the taxi together. We can speak Mandarin so there should be no problem in communication. My contact email is yauwhoa@yahoo.com

26th of September I planned go to Tianjin from Korea by ship. But how will I go to Beijing by bus? Also how much is ticket of bus or train? Where is the cheapest motel or hotel? Thanks,

take bus No. 513 to Shimin Guangchang (civilian Plaza), then take the light rail to Zhongshanmen Station, then the bus No. 605, 806, 680, 905 or 便民9 to Tianjin Railway station, and take the intercity express train to Beijing East Railway station.
cheap hotels in Beijing are:
Beijing Yizhujiayuan Hotel
Nanyuan Inn (Temple of Heaven), Beijing
Piaohome Inn (Dongsi), Beijing
Harat Austraders Hotel, Beijing

How much is the cruise tourist rate (which is always $$$)from Tianjin train station to Shi Min Guang Chang (Civilian Palaza) and how long is the ride?
How frequent is the 513 bus ride and how frequently does it run? Thanks.

the taxi fare from the Tianjin Railway station to the plaza is around CNY 140, and the it takes about 50 minutes.
the bus runs every few minutes.

We and another couple are on the Diamond Princess arriving in Tianjin Oct. 10. The four of us will stay in Beijing until Oct. 14. Perhaps those on the cruise who will stay in Beijing could get together on the ship to discuss plans. My contact information is morrispr@verizon.net.

Cruising into Tianjin on Diamond Princess Oct 10th,2011. Does anyone know if thereis a bus or motorcoach that takes you to Beijing. We are two couples staying at the Jade Palace hotel in beijong until the 14th. How much and what is the best way to get there? The cruiseship bus costs $80. per person which is pretty high.
Thank you for any ideas you can give us.

you can take bus No. 513 from the ferry terminal to Shi Min Guang chang (cival Plaza), and take a taxi to the Tianjin Railway station. take the intercity express train to Beijing South Railway station.
from beijing south railway station ,you can take the subway line 4 to Hai Dian Huang Zhuang Station, and then subway line 10 to Zhi Chun Li Station. exit from Exit D, and walk eastward along the street for about 200 meters, you will find the hotel.

We arrive in Beijing on 8th October to spend 2 days before joining the Diamond Princess in Tianjin on 10th October. We have booked a hotel in Dongcheng District (beside Forbidden city) and plan to go visit the great wall. How long will it take to get from the airport to the hotel and what is the easiest way to get there. Also how long does it take in the bullet train to get from Beijing to Tianjin? Anyone else going to be there at the same time as us?

it takes about 1 and half an hour from the airport to the hotel by subway.
and it takes half an hour by bullet train from Beijing to Tianjin.

Family on Diamond Princess arriving Tianjin Nov 11th, would like to join fellow travelers to Beijin by train. Does anyone know if Sheraton Great Wall is close to railroad station?? Thank you so much!

Main railway station is about 2 miles from Great Wall Hotel. Taxi is best solution. Hotel reception will give you a note for Taxi driver with the destination

Tina :8/8/2011 7:22:00 PM

hi Chomeli,
the hotel is quite far from the railway station.
the hotel is in the northeast of the city while the railway station is in the south of the city. the journey between the two takes about 1 hour.

We are a group of 6 adults, arriving in Tianjin Cruise Ship Terminal on 6 August. We would need to make our way to Beijing for One Day before we fly back as we are on a tight schedule. Would appreciate the following information:

1) Tianjin port to Beijing - transportation: bus or train? / distance / travel fare / where and how to purchase tickets in advance

2) Beijing City to Beijing Airport - what transportation ? / travel fare

Any information would be helpful. Thank you!

We did it in May off of a Princess ship. Had to catch a taxi at the port. That was no easy task as the speak little or no English and want to screw u on the fare. Once that was done it is a 1hr 20 min ride to station. Go to Tianjin station. Huge station. If u can ever get a ticket the train is fast. Try and find someone who speaks a little Chinese. Don't beat the taxi down to bad or he will take u where he wants. Ours took us to Tangu and tried to drop us. I paid more and he continued. Pretty dicy. Good luck.

We went last year on the Legend from Tangu.
Buy train tickets from Beiing South station, not from Beijing Zhan to Tangu, there are 2 trains AM that will get you there b4 1400.We paid 100RMB for the 30km ride.Take a card with destination in Chinese characters for the taxi driver. We loved our trip on the Legend.

We are arriving Tianjin port on diamond princess on may 6th. Going into Beijing for two nights. Want to take bullet train into beijing. Which train station is the best to use. Tanggu or Tianjin stations. I heard Tanggu is closer but do they have limited number of trains to Beijing. Also what is the availability of taxis at the port early in the morning for transfer to the station? Any help please.

Sam :5/2/2011 4:27:00 AM

yes, Stephen,
Tanggu is closer but do have limited mumber of trains.
the trains depart at 08:33, 12:14, 13:44, 18:18, 19:59, 21:39. if you can not catch the earliest train in the morning at 08:33, you need to wait for the one at 12:14. if so, you can go to the Tianjin Railway station, the trains depart every 10-15 minutes.

I need to know how to get to the cruise ship terminal in tianjin from downtown Beijing

Thanks Helen
Have you any idea how far it is from Tianjin railway satation to cruise ship terminal and how expensive it would be just to get a cab from there to cruise ship terminal?

Helen :4/20/2011 10:24:00 PM

you can take the bullet train from Beijing south railway station to Tanggu, and then take a taxi or bus No. 102 to the port.
or take the bullet train from beijing south railway station to Tianjin railway station, then go out of the tianjin railway station to take bus No. 621 to Tanggu Waitan stop, then take bus No. 102 to the cruise terminal.

We arrive on the Diamond Princess from Vancouver, at the Tianjin Cruise Terminal October 10th 2011. Anyone travelling on the same cruise and spending time in Beijing? I understand a taxi to the Train station is reqd. and then the Bullet train. Can anyone tell me which raiway station the Harmony Hotel is closest to?I think it's the South one.

Beijinger :4/19/2011 11:02:00 PM

no, Bill.
the hotel is close to the Beijing Railway station.
as you take the bullet train from Tianjin to Beijng, you will arrive at the Beijing South Railway station.
to get to the hotel, you can take the subway line 4 to Xuanwumen station, and then subway line 2 to beijing Railway station.

My wife and I arrive Via Diamond Princess at the Tianjin Cruise Port Sept.23rd 2011.I have a map of the area in front of me plus train schedules for bullet trains leaving both Tanggu Rail Station and Tianjin station. What I am finding confusing is that for the journey of 120km to Beijing from Tianjin T.S. it only takes 30 minutes, while from Tanguu T.S, only 40km further, it takes 56 minutes with only 5 trains a day; from the Tianjin R.S there are trains every 30 minutes. Anyone know why? How much is a taxi from the port to the Tanguu T.S. (30km) and from the Port to the Tianjin T.S. (70km) Thank you for any information that you may have.

hi William,
the reason why there are only five trains to Tanggu may be that Tianjian is the Terminal station of the train, and Tanggu is the an extension station of this line.
Taxi fare from Tianjin Port to Tanggu Railway station is about CNY 25; CNY 150 to Tianjin Railway station.

myself and hubby are on the diamond princess asia cruise departing singapore 20th april arriving tianjin 6th may and wish to experience the bullet train departing from tanggu if anyone would like to share cost of taxi to train station would be pleased to hear from.

Arriving at the Tianjin port on May 6 on the Diamond Princess. Want to take bullet train to Beijing. Is it better to leave from Tanggu or Tianjin train station. What is the cost of taxi to each station? Is it necessary to pre - book a taxi?

Reply2/15/2011 5:16:00 PMjeff ,   United States

Chris ( Australia ) :3/10/2011 5:43:00 AM

We got off the Diamond Princess & caught a metered taxi to Tianjing Railway Station CNY 220 (about $35) The Bullet train was CNY 58 (about $9) for first class & arrived 30 minutes later at Beijing South Station. then caught the underground MRT for CNY 2 If possible get destination written in Chinese as the taxi drivers don't speak English. Lots cheaper than Princess Shuttle.

micheal :2/15/2011 9:50:00 PM

it's better to leave from the Tanggu port which is closer to the port. the taxi fare from the port to Tanggu station is around CNY 20.
