yes, the Beijing South Railway Station and Tanggu station are both wheelchair accessible.

My wife and I (mid 60s) will join the Diamond Princess 15th April in Singapore and disembark Tianjin port. We fly out about midnight the same day. We wish to arrange short Beijing tour, then fly out. Would anyone like to join us? Anyinformation from port to city and airport appreciated greatly.

Hi Malcolm we are also on this cruise and want to get from Taijin to Beijing, Maybe we can link up and get a sharp deal on a mini bus. My e mail is bracks@xtra.co.nz

Hi Malcolm,
i think it is a good idea to take a small group tour to Beijing, and ask for a pick-up service from the travel agency.

We need to get transport from Beijing hotel around Tian'anmen Square to Tianjin cruise ship terminal for a Diamond Princess cruise 1 May 2012. can we get a direct transfer of any kind. I see road can re unreliable time wise.

Hello Joey we are on the same cruise we decided to use the facilitys provided by a travel website which included being picked up at airport at midnight a full one day tour of Beijing plus transport to the cruise ship it cost Y1440 for two people , roughly 100 dollars each. We have been to Beijing before but we decided this was stress free, last trip we became confused aty railway. good luck may meet you on cruise

Nancy :2/9/2012 5:27:25 PM

Hi Joey,
there is no direct bus or train, i think you can only rent a car or see if the hotel provide the limo service.

Hello there,
Does anyone know what is the best why (easiest also, for 2 old people) for my parents to get from Beijing Hotel (near Tiananmen) back to TianJin Radison Hotel in Tianjin. Thanks in advance!

hi Agnes,
they can take a taxi (CNY 31) or subway line 1 to xidan and then line 4 to Beijing South Railway station to take a bullet train to Tianjin railway station.
and then take a taxi to the Tianjin Radisson Hotel (only 900 meters from the railway station)

Is the cost dependent on OUR group booking or the number of pax on the tour on the day?

The cost depends on the season of your travel too much. It also has something to do with the number of the pax in your group.

Hello to everyone posted here,
My wife, Jane, & I are departing Tianjin on the Diamond Princess on 27th. Feb 2012. We would like advice about transport to Tianjin from Beijing on the 27th. Further, would anyone like to join us on a trip to Xi'an on the 25/26th to take a look at the Terracotta Army?

The name of the port is the same, but at different piers.

Andre ( South Africa ) :3/4/2012 3:52:11 AM

Does anyone know the name of the Passenger Port as opposed to the Cargo Port so the taxi driver does not make a mistake :-)

joanne ( United States ) :2/14/2012 6:37:00 PM

Hello Andrew,
We are also leaving Beijing on the 27th for the Diamond Princess. We will be in Beijing on thge 25th but will probably stay local. I am checking on the facts about transportation as I want to be sure how to buy train tickets in advance to ensure a seat. Am hoping to take a taxi from Tanggu but am concerned about comment from Greg below. What time were you planning on leaving Beijing for the port on the 27th? I can be emailed at kwrw9092@yahoo.com. Perhaps Christine below would like to travel with us.

Christine Doan ( United States ) :1/1/2012 6:45:56 PM

Hi Andrew,
We will be on the same ship on February 27 and are looking for ways to get to the cruise port in Tianjin from Beijing. We'd prefer to take the bullet train to Tanggu. We will stay in Beijing International Hotel from Febrary 24th to 27th and would love to go with you. Please send me an email if you have more information hoandoan@gmail.com

Kind Regards,
Christine Doan

Greg ( Australia ) :12/4/2011 12:07:14 AM

Went by bullittrain from Beijing to tanngu and got a taxi to the ship we had translation were to take us not the cargo port but the new passenger port but the smart arse took us to the cargo port and the fare went from 150rmb to 450rmb so we had a Hugh argument and he settled for 150 as quoted so please watch out

Rita :11/9/2011 7:12:07 PM

Hi Andrew,
from Beijing to Tianjin, you can take the Intercity Express train from Beijing South Railway Station to Tanggu (the district where the ferry terminal locates), and take a taxi to the ferry terminal.
as for Xian tour, you can book a tour at:

We will be taking the Diamond Princess out of Tianjin Cruise Port on 3/30. Need to get from Beijing to cruise port...anyone else on this cruise that might be interested in coordinating transportation?

We are on same cruise - the bullet train from B. sounds like an experience not to be missed and from the station in T. to the port seems straight forward enough... If doing this together is more comfortable my friend and I are happy to meet up and travel with a few other passengers. We will be in B. a few days earlier - what hotel are you in in? I still need to book that!

Hi is anyone doing the Diamond Princess cruise from Singapore to Bejing 14th March - 30th March?

hi linda,
I read a reply to your question on how to get from the Tianjin cruise port to the Tianjin rail station. It mentioned taking the 513 bus to Citizen Square. I plan on doing the same. I am assuming that the Citizen Square is right at the rail station. What is your opinion? Thanks

Donna ( Australia ) :1/30/2012 12:04:02 PM

we are in the same situation same cruise with our flight leaving at 2pm. After some research we were warned that doing the transfer by road has the risk of us not being in time for the flight, as traffic jams and weather can cause delays for hours. Rail is more complicated costs more than a taxi if one uses a tour agent (the one we emailed anyway)so we are now considering changing to a later flight. All very upsetting.

Robin McGowan ( Australia ) :1/26/2012 11:23:02 PM

We are also travelling with Diamond Princess and need to be at the Beijing Capital Airport to fly out at 2pm. 27th feb. The bullet train sounds the quickest option but involves a change or two - have you resolved your transfer problems?

Ben :1/19/2012 11:34:02 PM

hi Linda,
the taxi fare will be expensive.
actually you can take a bus No. 513 to Citizen Square (Shi Min Guang Chang), and then transfer to the light rail to Tianjin Railway station, and a bullet train to Beijing South Railway Station. From Beijing south Railway Station, you can take either airport shuttle bus or subway to the airport.

Hi Sue Darlington, we shall travel from Tianjin Xingang Cruise Port to Beijing on 20th Mar. Would appreciate you can post here how much is the taxi fare and is it easy to get a taxi at the port upon your return home. Thanks

No direct taxi from Tianjin Xingang Cruise Port to Beijing in fact, even if some taxi drivers will carry you, the cost will be much higher. It is not hard to take a taxi at the port to Tianjin downtown.

We will arrive at Tianjin Xingang Cruise Port by ship, what is the best way to go to Beijing, how long it takes and how much is the fare? Please advise some websites for further reserach

Kevin :2/5/2012 6:42:43 PM

You can take a taxi from Tianjin Xingang Cruise Port to Tianjin railway station, and then take the intercity train to Beijing. The intercity train ticket is CNY55 for Second Class Seat and CNY66 for First Class Seat, and it takes about 30 minutes. The taxi fare frim Tianjin port to Tianjin railway station is around CNY80, and the duration is about 1 hour.

We are 2 seniors requiring transfer from Tianjin Cruise Home Port to Beijing hotel on 27th February, can anyone help with an inexpensive solution please.

We have in inquiry into My Beijing China that offers bus transportation from the cruise port to Beijing for $47 USD per person. This is about the best that we havew found so far. If interested in further you can contact us are we will be in Suite D301 on the Diamond Princess. They use a tour bus and the $47USD includes all tolls, fees, etc.

Mike ( Australia ) :1/13/2012 8:26:56 PM

I am on the same cruise, from what I read on forums, getting a taxi at the ship can be very difficult because of demand, and the bullet train may not have seat available unless pre booked.

I am looking a getting specially booked bus direct from ship to Beijing hotel, have prices from $24 to $55, still looking

there is only bus No. 513 from the port. you can take the bus to Citizen Square (Shi Min Guang Chang), and take a light rail to Tianjin Railway station, and then a bullet train to Beijing South Railway station.

Thank you Emily for your reply to my question on transport from Tianjin to Beijing. Can anyone also let me know about taking a bus from Tianjin to Beijing near to the Forbidden City. Can you also recommend a Hotel near by?

Hi Gail,
i think bus plus bullet train is more convenient.
after you arrive at Beijing South Railway station, you can take subway line 4 to Xuanwumen station, and line 2 to Qianmen station. from Qimen you can walk to the Forbidden City.
hotels near Forbidden City:
Hao Yuan Courtyard, Beijing
Shatan Hotel, Beijing
Wangfujing Grand Hotel, Beijing

We are two older couples arriving on March 23, 2012 at 3:25 pm on United Airlines. We need to get to Tianjin to our hotel. What options do we have without renting a private car? Thanks for your help

you can go to the Tianjin Ancient Culture Street.
transportation from the ferry terminal:
bus No. 513 to Citizen Square (Shi Min guang Chang), and transfer to the Jinbin Light Rail and get off at Tianjin Railway Station, then take a taxi to the Ancient Culture Street. the travel time is less than 2 hours.

Wish to travel from Tianjin to Beijing airport on the train, I don't mind company. I am on the Nautica and will be leaving Tianjin 24th March 2012 to get to Beijing Airport to travel home any comment on how to do this will be most welcome

Hi Gail,
you can take a bullet train from Tianjin Railway station to Beijing South Railway Station, and then change to the airport shuttle bus line 10 to the Beijing international airport.
or you can take subway line 4 from Beijing south Railway station to Xuanwumen station, and then line 2 to Dongzhimen station, and finally the Airport Express line to the airport.
