there are buses from Beijing Zhaogongkao Long-distance Bus station to the Hengshui.
the buses depart every 30 minutes from 06:15 to 16:00.
and the fare is CNY 60.
from Beijing airport to the bus station, you can take airport shuttle bus line 7 to Ciqikou stop, and change to bus No. 525 or 610 to Zhaogongkou Qiaonan stop, and walk southward along the road for about 120 meters, you will find the bus station.

I don't like to follow organized tours. So, I am planning to take train to Badaling Great Wall and then on the way back to stop at the Ming Tombs on the same day. Does the train back make a stop at Ming tombs? Can I catch a train from Ming Tombs to Beijing? Or is it better to travel back by bus? Do buses stop at Ming tombs? Is there a bus from there to Beijing?Thank you.

Candy :10/27/2011 1:46:51 AM

hi Esther Loo,
the train does not stop at Ming Tombs back from Badaling.
so you'd better take a bus.
take bus No. 919 (express) to Changping Xiguan, and take bus No. 314 to the Sacred Way, Dingling Tomb, and Changling Tomb.
when getting back, you can take the bus No. 314 to University of Political Science and Law, and change a bus No. 345(express)to Deshengmen Station.

You cna take a buleet train from Beijing South Railway Station to Tianjin Tanggu railway Station. The train tickets can be bought at the railway station before your travel or at any of the train ticket windows in the city of Beijing. Ionly know that Bus No. 102 serves between tanggu Railway Station and Tianjin Port.

I would like to travel from Beijing to Datong on 9 July and found there are 2 different pricing for soft sleeper. Why is this so?
If I want to reserve 2 soft sleeper, how much do they cost?

Reply7/2/2011 6:54:29 AMAnna Ho ,   Singapore

Jacky :7/2/2011 8:49:40 PM

that is because the prices are different for the lower berth and the upper berth.
so the price for two soft sleeper tickets is depends on which berth do you take.

My father and I are visiting Beijing for some days on summer and then we want to take a train to Zibo. My high school is at Zibo. How would I buy the tickets and how much would it cost?

Reply5/11/2011 4:58:00 PMGabriela Mercado ,   Mexico

Jim :5/11/2011 10:32:00 PM

train tickets can be booked 10 days in advance.
so you can try to book the tickets to Zibo at the railway station in Beijing.
but railway tickets are hard to get, especially in summer vacation.
so my suggestion is that you can ask a travel agency to book the tickets for you.
i know this website provide ticket book service, you may have a try.
here you can find the train schedule and ticket fare

Re Diamond Princess Cruise.
We are happy with the train arrangments but are still puzzled as to the best way to actually book/purchase the tickets.

How long it would take for a taxi from Tanggu Train station to Tianjin International Cruise Home Port? How much is it for a Taxi vs. Bus 102? Will bus 102 take us to the proper pier to board the Diamond Princess? Thank you.

The taxi fare of different taxi company is the same in the same city in China. If you tell the driver the right place, and he/she understand your meaning correctly, then you will be taken to the rigth place.

Loretta ( Canada ) :2/5/2011 10:03:00 PM

Thank you Bruce for the info. on taxi vs. bus. Do you have a name of a reliable taxi company that we should consider? Do rates vary depending on the taxi company? Will the bus take us to the proper Pier?

Bruce :2/5/2011 8:47:00 PM

It costs about CNY20 by taxi, and CNY1.5 by Bus no. 102.

I will be leaving Beijing heading to Tianjin port on March 3 for a cruise. The quotes I have gotten for 1 person traveling are ridiculously expensive. What is the easiest way to get from Beijing to the Tianjin port? My cruise leaves at 7 PM. How much time do I need?

You may take a train from Beijing south railway station to Tianjin for about 30 minutes, and then taka a taxi to the port.

We will be staying in Beijing, and need to board a cruise ship in Xinggang, how do we get to the train? Is Xinggang the same as Tanggu?

David :2/5/2011 8:59:00 PM

It costs around CNY20 by taxi.

Molly ( Canada ) :2/1/2011 12:20:00 PM

How much is the taxi from Tanggu train to the port?

Linda :1/31/2011 8:07:00 PM

it takes about 45 minutes if you take bus no. 102 from Tanggu railway station to the pier.

Molly ( Canada ) :1/31/2011 12:45:00 PM

Thank You Loretta, yes we are boarding the Diamond on April 4. Recently receive the notice of changing the pier. How far is the train station Tanggu to the pier?

Loretta ( Canada ) :1/30/2011 4:30:00 PM

Hi Molly,
Are you boarding the Diamond Princess by any chance? I will be boarding the Diamond Princess on March 6, and to my understanding, all cruise ships will now be docked at the tianjin International Cruise Home Port, not the Xingang port. Both are in Tanggu, however the location of the port is at the outskirts of Tianjin. It is approx. 30 minutes from the Tanggu train station to the port. My husband and I plan on taking the bullet train from Beijing South Railway station to Tanggu railway station (approx. 54 min) for approx. $12 CAD.

bruce :1/4/2011 8:10:00 PM

You may take a trian from beijing south railway station to tanggu railway station, and then take a taxi or take Bus 102 to Xingang Port which is the same as tanggu port.

My question is similar to Gustavos but I still need clarity.
On the timetable it says it takes 30mins to get from Beijing South to Taijin then a 2min wait for the Taijin to Tanggu train which takes about 25mins. The 2nd leg is a shorter distance so why a longer time? Is this the same bullet train but on a different track? Cheers.

as far as i know, there's no train from Tianjin Airport to BEijing.
you can take the long-distance bus from the airport to Beijing. or you can take the airport shuttle bus to Tianjin railway station to take the intercity train to Beijing.

I am staying in Beijing and need to take a train to the Cruise terminal in Tanggu. Does the Bullet Train run from Beijing to Tanggu or is only the rail train?
