there is no direct bus or subway from the station to the hotel, so i suggest that you take a taxi. the taxi fare is about CNY 40.

If we visit Beihai Park, is it easy to pick up a Taxi in this area to get us to Beijing South Railway station or is there any public transport we may be able to use?

there isn't direct buses or subway from the park to the station, so you may need to take a taxi, and i think it will be easier to get a cab at the South Gate or the North Gate of the park.

How far and how much would a taxi cost from Beijing South Railway station to the Olympic Birds Nest site. Also are there any other tourist attractions worth visiting in this area?

The taxi fee is around CNY60. Other attractions nearby are such as Water Cube, Olympic park and National Science Museum.

1. the taxi fare is about CNY 80, about 40 minutes if it is smooth on the way.
2. the earliest bus to Badaling departs at 6:00am.
3. from Badaling to the Forbidden City, you can take the bus back to Dongzhimen, and then take subway line 2 to Jianguomen, and then line 1 to Tiananmen East, and walk to the Forbidden City.

want to go to Badaling Great Wall or mutianyu great wall ( which one is good) with kids, from Tiantan hotel, what is the easy way? bus, tourist bus or train? pls let me know. thanks a lot.

i think Mutianyu geat Wall is better. if you take the tourist bus, then you have to join in the one-day trip, or you can take a bus to great Wall by your own if you do not like group tour.
for one-day trip, you can take a taxi to Qianmen (south of Tiananmen Square). if go by yourself, you can take a taxi to Dongzhimen Bus station, and take the bus No. 867 to Mutianyu.

From Days Inn Forbidden City to Beijing south railway to catch bullet train..how much by taxi,or is there a bus?

the shuttle bus can not reach the hotel.
you can take a taxi to the hotel, the fare is around CNY 80.
or you can take the subway airport express line to Dongzhimen, and line 2 to Chongwenmen, exit from Exit B1 and take a bus No. 60 to Nanheyan stop, you will find the hotel. the fare is CNY 25+2+1= 28

John ( Australia ) :7/18/2012 6:43:44 PM

Many thanks Della for the info. From Beijing Capital airport (ex Xian Flight) is there a shuttle to Dong Cheng Days Inn Forbidden City Hotel? Thanks John

Della :7/17/2012 7:17:23 PM

there's no direct bus, you can take a taxi. the taxi fare is about CNY 25 and it takes only 15 minutes to reach the railway station.

Hi sophie,
there is no direct bus or subway from your hotel to the Badaling Great Wall.
you go there through the following two ways:
1. take a taxi to Deshengmen station (CNY 25, 15 min), and then a bus No. 877 to Badaling (CNY12, 1.5 hours).
2. take a subway line 10 to Zhichun Road station, and line 13 to Xizhimen station,(CNY 2, 50 min) and walk to Beijing North Railway Station to take a tourist train to Badaling (CNY 6, almost 1.5 hours). or you can take a taxi to the Beijing North Railway Station (CNY 30, 15 min) to take the tourist train.

How much does it cost per person to take the airport shuttle from Beijing Capital to our hotel in the Waifujing area? thanks.

the airport shuttle cannot reach Wangfujing. you can take the shuttle bus line 3 to Chaoyangmen (CNY 16 per person), and take a taxi to your hotel in Wangfujing (about CNY 10).

We would like to take the train to Mutianyu, but I am a little confused as to where we should get off the train. We go from Beijing North to Huairou or Beizhai? Is there a train number and how long does the journey take. Many thanks.

Anne :5/8/2012 6:29:45 PM

hi judith,
both huairou or Beizhai station are far from mutianyu great Wall.
why not taking a bus?
you can go to Dongzhimen bus station to take a bus No. 867 (936) to mutianyu great Wall directly.

Ni hao,

I wanna visit great wall from Bedaling, but first of all how to go to North Railway Station, since I will be staying near Olympic Stadium? Can I take subway? And could you please give me the detail route to go to the North Railway Station. Secondly, is it necessary to buy round trip ticket to go back to Beijing? I have read lots of reviews that mention we need to take train S2 only, is it true? Is there any update train time table to go to Badaling from North Railway St, or only like in the table above by train no.9/10?
And the last thing, how much is the entrance ticket for Badailing Great Wall?
Thank you in advance for you help xie xie

you can take subway line 8 to Beitucheng station, and line 10 to Zhichun Road Station, and line 13 to Xizhimen station, exit from Exit A, you will find the Beijing North Railway Station.
no need to buy the round trip ticket.
the only train to Badaling is the train S2.
the train departs from Beijing North Railway Station at:
06:12, 07:58, 08:34, 09:02, 10:57, 12:42, 13:14, 13:35, 15:24, 17:11, 17:41, 18:01, 21:31.
it takes about 1 hour and 10 minutes on the way .
the entrance fee for Badaling is CNY 45.

I read on site:

"You can take a tourist train at Beijing North Railway Station at 07:10 getting to Mutianyu Great Wall, getting off at Beizhai Railway Station during the National Day Holiday (10.1 – 10.7). Then take a minibus to Mutianyu Great Wall, and get back by taking the tourist train at Beizhai Railway Station at 16:00"

is it still correct, it's better than bus 936? which correct hours
of service?

please it's important
i'll stay on beijing from 23 to 29 march

It seems that the tourism train has been stopped. You should take Tourism Bus No.867 at Dongzhimen Outer to Mutianyu Great Wall directly in about 2.5 hours.

Dear Sir/Madam,

is the tourist train still running?
I ask because I went today to Pingguoyuan "station" and saw just an abandoned platform.

Lisa : thank you very much for your kind answer. Do you know which trains are still running?
Thank you!

Some of the trains have been stopped. Shidu Scenic Area is actually free of entrance fee, but you have to buy tickets for some of the scenic spots in it.

I want to go to the Wall from Novotel Peace Hotel area at 12:30-1:00pm and then go from there to the airport late at night. So, how could I get to the wall, and then how could I get to the airport all using train, bus, subway (not taxi). Thanks for your reply.

Dear Sir/Madam

I will be in Beijing from Dec 28 to Jan 2.

I would like to visit Beijing's suburban places. I'm very interested to visit the ancient town/village and mountain.

Can you please recommend the best place I could go.

Thank you very much

Hi Johnny,
there are many ancient village in Beijing's suburban, such as Qianjuntai, Yanhecheng, Liuyiqu, and Donghulin.
i think you can hire a local driver and drive you around.

At Badaling train station, is there a taxi from the station to the entrance of the great wall site? If not, what is the walking like? We will be there in February, in the COLD season. If we take a train to Badaling section of the great wall, will it be hard to walk to the entrance or is there a taxi we can get for that part of it. Thanks

The entrance is about fifteen to twenty minutes' walk from the Badaling Railway Station, so please don't worry.

Can you tell me exactly where to buy the attraction and tourist train ticket because there are so many places at the train station that it's easy to lost yourself. Thank you

Every ticket window sell all the train tickets, so you can buy the tickets at any window. You have to check and fix your train No. first.
