Walk around 10min to Xisi Subway Station to take line 4 to Xizhimen. Leave through exit A and you can walk to local North Railway Station in 5-8min. At the rail station, you can take a train to Badaling.

How long does it take from great wall to Ming tomb?

By bus no. 879, it takes 1-1.5h and I heard the frequency of the bus is around an hour.

We would like to know how to get from The Great Wall to Longqing Gorge? How long would it take?
We plan to visit the Great Wall in the morning and then to visit Longqing Gorge in the late noon-evening time.

You may take bus No. 919, get off at Yanqing Nancaiyuan, transfer to Bus No. 920 to Longqing Gorge. It may takes around 4 hours.

Me and my gf want to visit the wall near Badaling and go by bus. We found out that we can take busses 919 and 877 leaving from Dashamen Tower (can someone also please explain how to get there from Jishuitan station). However, we cannot find the time table for the busses or how many times an hour they are departing, because of the cold weather this information is very welcome and I hope someone can help us out. Happy new year and best wishes !

Hi Sammy, Many thanks for the advice. I have been trying to find out which bus stops the closest to the wall/cable car as my father is not able to walk long distances. Sounds like Bus 877 is the one!

Hi Sammy,
Thank you so much for your information! best wishes for the upcomming dragon year!

Sammy :1/19/2012 10:47:51 PM

Hi Thijs,
the buses depart from Deshengmen every few minutes between 06:00 and 12:00. a bus will leave the bus station when all the seats are taken.
it takes about 1 hour to reach the Badaling Great wall.
there are many fake bus 877 near Deshengmen, so remember to take the bus at the foot of the Deshengmen Tower.
do not believe any "guide" on the bus who tells you the walk distance is very long and you'd better take a cable car...
the bus 877 stops very close to the entrance of Badaling, so you can just walk to the entrance and buy the tickets.
when you arrive at Jishuitan Station, exi from Exit B, and walk eastward along the Jishuitan West Street for about 400 meters, you will find the Deshengmen Tower.

is it also crowded during chinese new year january 24?

Hi Danny,
i think it will not very crowded, since it is cold, and most Chinese prefer to stay at home with families during festival.

can we easily get a taxi from there? from badaling to downtown, and how much they charge?

you'd better to carry snacks and drinks with you.
there are some shops and restaurants, but the prices of goods may be a little higher.
