Hi,
if you are going to visit the Forbidden city, i suggest you do there directly and visit other attractions on the way back.
take subway line 4 from Beijing South Railway station to Xuanwumen station, and line 2 to Qianmen station.
you may have a short visit to Qianmen street, and then walk to through the Tiananmen square to the Forbidden city.

HI, My husband and I will be travelling with my 80 year old parents from Beijing to Shanghai on the bullet train. Will they have to walk up many steps at Beijing railway station or are there lifts?

Hi, I need to get from Beijing South train station to the Marriott Courtyard hotel in the Chaoyang district of Beijing. I will be 38 weeks pregnant and have a suitcase, a baby buggy and a crib with me. Will it be easy enough to get a taxi, how much should I expect it to cost and how long is the journey likely to take? Thanks.

Frank :12/29/2011 4:57:22 PM

It is about 15km from Beijing South Railway Station to the Marriott Courtyard hotel in the Chaoyang district. So it won't take much time if you take a taxi. However, There will may be some difficulty for you to get a taxi, considering your status. Just be patient, there are always some good men that are willing to help others. The taxi fee will be around CNY35 at most.

How can I do this with a low cost? Which train I have to use? My hotel is at the Temple of Heaven. Could you give some advices?
Thanks,
Caio

Amanda :11/1/2011 7:09:35 PM

Hi Caio,
you can take an overnight train from Beijing to Xian. when you arrive at Xian Railway Station, you can take a tourism special bus No. 5 (360) to the Terracotta Army. you can still take the bus back to Xian city. i suggest you stay in Xian for one or two nights, so that you can visit the Xian City Wall, the Bell Tower and Drum Tower, Muslim Street, and the Big Wild Goose Pagoda.
if you don't want to stay in Xian, you can take an overnight train back to Beijing the same day you visit the Terracotta Army.

subway is more convenient.
you can take subway line 4 from Beijing South Railway station to Xuanwumen station, then line 2 to Jianguomen Station, and line 1 to Guomao Station, and change to line 10 (Bagou Direction) to the Agriculture Exhibition Hall station (Nong Zhan Guan).
