Forbidden City, Beijing

Day 01: Entry Beijing
You will be met upon arrival at Beijing Capital Airport and check into your hotel. The rest day is left free off schedule for your individual activities. No escorted tour is scheduled.

Day 02: Beijing   
After breakfast you are invited to attend the pre-tour briefing in the hotel, where you will meet the other members of your group. Start your China tour with the visit to the world largest city square of Tian'anmen Square. Just cross the famous Chang'an Avenue to enter the Forbidden City to appreciate this majestic royal court complex. In the afternoon the visit will be focused on the Temple of Heaven, where the Emperors pray for God blessing and harvest for the whole nation. The welcome dinner of the Beijing Specialty Peking Duck Banquet valued at CNY122.00 net per person will be served at the original Quan Ju De restaurant with a history of 100 years. Consequently you will be entertained by a brilliant Peking Opera performance at the well-known Liyuan Theatre.

Day 03: Beijing 
Drive to visit Badaling section of the world famous Great Wall, one of the ancient construction wonders in the history. You will be given 1.5-2 hours to have a short excursion on the wall. To reward the energy lost in the morning, you will be transferred back to a fine local Sichuan food restaurant to have a decent lunch. In the afternoon you will move to visit the Sacred Way and the Ming Tombs. A luxurious a la carte dinner valued at CNY100.00 net per person is arranged at a nice Cantonese cuisine restaurant in the Wangfujing area. After dinner, one hour is free for you to stroll at this renowned Wangfujing Avenue.

Day 04: Beijing Xian
  
After visit the Imperial garden Summer Palace where is the royalties' summer resort and the lovely Giant Pandas in Beijing Zoo, take an afternoon flight to the next ancient capital city, Xian. The local guide will pick you up at the Xian airport and transfer to check in at the well selected hotel, where a lush buffet dinner valued at CNY170.00 net per person is waiting for you.

Day 05: Xian
Drive to visit the remarkable significant archeological excavation of Terracotta Warriors and Horses in the morning, which is not to be missed for any visitors to China. The a la carte lunch at CNY80.00 net per person will be arranged at a Cantonese cuisine restaurant in the downtown area, to avoid having the poor food at the tourism site shop. In the afternoon go on with the city tour to the Big Wild Goose Pagoda. This evening please enjoy the Tang Dynasty Dinner Show served at the glorious Tang Dynasty Palace.

Day 06: Xian
Continue your Xian city tour by visiting the Ancient City Wall in the morning. After a well arranged lunch valued at CNY80.00 net per person at a local Cantonese cuisine restaurant, move to visit the a local family and the Great Mosque. You will have some free time to explore the Muslim Bazaar nearby for some souvenirs or little gifts for your families or friends. The same valued a la carte dinner will be served at another local well known Sichuan cuisine restaurant.

Day 07: Xian Guilin
On the way to the airport, visit the Hanyangling Museum, the Mausoleum of Western Han Emperor Liu Qi. Take flight to the picturesque scenic city Guilin. Be met and escorted to check in at the local best hotel.

Day 08: Guilin
Today you will take a full day city tour including visits to the Reed Flute Cave, the Seven Star Park and the Elephant Trunk Hill.(B+L)

Day 09: Guilin Yangshuo
Take the memorable cruise along the Li River down to Yangshuo with lunch on board, fully soaked up into the fantastic picturesque mountains, peaceful green fields, farms and villages with water buffalos, cows wandering around on both sides of the river bank on the way. After checking in the local best hotel, a special bicycle ride along the countryside will be an extraordinary experience of your trip, by which you can take a deep breath of the fresh air there and have a close touching of the local people's life. You can also take our electric car which is more energy-saving alternatively. You may also have a chance to take a family visit to the villager's home. (Tips: Since the lunch on the Li River cruise can not meet your expectation, YangtzeRiverTour suggests that you have a rich breakfast at the hotel today.)

Yangtze Shennong Stream excursion

Day 10: Yangshuo Guilin Chongqing
Leave Yangshuo and drive to Guilin to catch the flight to Chongqing. The local guide will pick you up from the airport and take you for a brief city tour to visit the Residence of General Joseph W. Stilwell and Ci Qi Kou. After enjoying a rich buffet dinner at a 5-star hotel, check in at the deluxe cruise ship which sets sail at about 23:30.

Day 11: Chongqing - Fengdu
The river guide will give an orientation about the whole Yangtze Cruise tour in the morning. Relax on deck and view both farm and village life in rural China on both sides along the river. After lunch, the ship will stop at the Snow Jade Cave for a side trip. The Captain's welcome party is celebrated tonight and you are welcome to join in.

Day 12: Badong Xiling Gorge
Today your eyes will be busy with endless breathtaking beautiful scenery as the ship sailing through the splendid Three Gorges, the Qutang Gorge famous for its natural spectacular landscape, the Wu Gorge known for its 'Twelve Peaks' and the longest Xiling Gorge. On the way, the ship will stop at Badong to have an interesting short floating along the Shennong Stream in small pea boat, rowing by the boat trackers between the well-wooden and cliffy hills. The ship will berth at the 5-level Three Gorges lock tonight.

Shanghai Bund

Day 13: Sandouping Yichang Shanghai
Disembark to visit the magnificent Three Gorges Dam Construction Project, the world's largest hydroelectric project to be completed in 2009. Your Yangtze River Cruise will be finished after visiting the sheer size of the dam and the exhibition hall with the Dam model. Disembark and the Yichang guide will meet you on board and take you to visit the Yichang Museum if time available. Afterwards, take a flight to the largest economic metropolis in China, Shanghai. Be met and check into the hotel. The rest hours are free on your own if any.

Day 14: Shanghai
Take your full day city highlights visit to Shanghai Museum with large collection of rare cultural piece and the elegant Yuyuan Garden full of traditional flavor. Then we will arrange a short cruise tour along the Huangpu River to savor the Bund sights. The Farewell Dinner valued at CNY105.00 net per person is specially arranged at the famous Wang Bao He in Central Hotel, with a history of 260 years old and serving the best Shanghai Cuisines. The breathtaking Portman Acrobatic Show at the Shanghai Centre Theatre will be served afterwards. Upon returning to the hotel our tour guide will see you into the lobby to bid the farewell. Our escorted service ends here.

Day 15: Ending in Shanghai
Please check out from the hotel before 12:00 in the morning by yourselves. Go to the airport for your home forward flight on your own. If you still have more time for the China visit, you can contact us for some suggestion to extend your China trip.

Important note:

To the airports:
Shanghai has two airports: Hongqiao Airport (9 miles (15 km) west of the center of Shanghai) and Pudong Airport (19 miles (30km) southeast of Shanghai). Please make sure you go to the right one for departure.
 
Best way to Airports:
BeijingTrip.com suggests you book a taxi at the Front Desk of your hotel (JC Mandarin Hotel) to make sure you won't stand outside the hotel entrance with your luggage waiting for a taxi. The trip to Pudong Airport will take about one hour at 150 -170 RMB and it needs a 20 minutes drive for the Hongqiao Airport at 50 RMB. Hotel shuttle buses are available every hour to the airport at 50 RMB per person. For details please contact the Front Desk of the hotel.
