Daily Itinerary Summary

Day 01: Entry Beijing
You will be met upon arrival at Beijing Capital Airport and check into your hotel. The rest day is left free off schedule for your individual activities. No escorted tour is scheduled.

Day 02: Beijing   
After breakfast you are invited to attend the pre-tour briefing in the hotel, where you will meet the other members of your group. Start your China tour with the visit to the world largest city square of Tian'anmen Square. Just cross the famous Chang'an Avenue to enter the Forbidden City to appreciate this majestic royal court complex. In the afternoon the visit will be focused on the Temple of Heaven, where the Emperors pray for God blessing and harvest for the whole nation. After enjoying the tasty dinner at a good restaurant, you will be entertained by a lively Acrobatic Show.

Day 03: Beijing 
Drive to visit Badaling section of the world famous Great Wall, one of the ancient construction wonders in the history. You will be given 1.5-2 hours to have a short excursion on the wall. To reward the energy lost in the morning, you will be transferred back to a fine local Sichuan food restaurant to have a decent lunch. In the afternoon you will move to visit the Sacred Way and the Ming Tombs. You will be driven to appreciate the splendid Olympic National Stadium, otherwise known as Bird’s Nest on the way back to downtown area. The dinner today is the Peking Duck Dinner valued at CNY122.00 at the well-selected restaurant.

Day 04: Beijing Xian  
After visiting the Imperial garden Summer Palace where is the royalties' summer resort and the lovely Giant Pandas in Beijing Zoo, take an afternoon flight to the next ancient capital city, Xian. The local guide will pick you up at the Xian airport and transfer to check in at the well selected hotel. A la carte dinner valued at CNY60.00 net per person will be arranged for you at a fine local famous restaurant.

 Terracotta Warriors and Houses Museum

Day 05: Xian
Drive to visit the remarkable significant archeological excavation of Terracotta Warriors and Horses in the morning, which is not to be missed for any visitors to China. In the afternoon go on with the city tour to the Big Wild Goose Pagoda, the landmark of ancient Xian. This evening please enjoy the local Dumpling Banquet Dinner while you are entertained by the Tang Dynasty Music and Dance Show.

Day 06: Xian
You will first stop at the City Wall for some activities. Cycling on the City Wall is quite popular among the foreign friends. If you cycle there, you need to pay the charge on the spot. After lunch, you will be transferred to a local family for the visit. You will feel the hospitality as you enter the house. You will get to understand the local people about their life and habit through the conversation. Later on, visit the Great Mosque and enjoy some free time in the Muslim street nearby, which is lined with the souvenir stores and local specialities.

Yangtze River Cruise

Day 07: Xian Chongqing
Before taking the flight to Chongqing, you will visit the Hanyangling Museum, the mausoleum of Western Han Emperor, Liu Qi near the airport. Lunch is left on your own today. Your guide will pick you up at the airport and then transfer you to a nice restaurant for the dinner. Afterwards, check in the deluxe cruise ship, which will set sail at 23: 00.

Day 08: Chongqing Fengdu
At about 08: 30, the ship will arrive at the Ghost City Fengdu, you will disembark for a side trip, where you will visit many temples housing silent ghost devils. After that, you will return to the ship and continue enjoying the nice view on the ship. The Captain’s Welcome Party is held on the deck in the evening. Don’t miss it.

Day 09: Badong Xiling Gorge Sandouping
Today your eyes will be busy with endless breathtaking beautiful scenery as the ship sailing through the splendid Three Gorges, the Qutang Gorge famous for its natural spectacular landscape, the Wu Gorge known for its 'Twelve Peaks' and the longest Xiling Gorge. On the way, the ship will stop at Badong to have an interesting short floating along the Shennong Stream in small pea boat, rowing by the boat trackers between the well-wooden and cliffy hills. After that, continue your cruise into the western section of the Xiling Gorge and pass through the five-step ship lock in the evening.

Shanghai Xintiandi area

Day 10: Yichang Shanghai
This morning, you will have to check out the cruise ship after visiting the magnificent Three Gorges Dam Construction Project, the world's largest hydroelectric project. Your local guide will get on board to meet you and escort you to tour Yichang Museum if time is enough. Take the flight to Shanghai and check in the fine hotel. Enjoy the night life in Shanghai on your own.

Day 11: Shanghai
Visit the Shanghai Museum with large collection of rare cultural piece and the elegant Yuyuan Garden full of traditional flavor. Then some free time is left for you to stroll at the Bund along the Huangpu River. Transfer you back to the hotel to have dinner and the tour guide will bid farewell to you. Our escorted service ends here.

Day 12: Shanghai/ Exit
Please go to the airport for your home forward flight on your own. If you still have more time for the China visit, you can contact us for some suggestion to extend your China trip.

 To the Airports:
Shanghai has two airports: Hongqiao Airport (9 miles (15 km) west of the center of Shanghai) and Pudong Airport (19 miles (30km) southeast of Shanghai). Please make sure you go to the right one for departure.
 
 Best way to Airports:
Beijingtrip.com suggests you book a taxi at the Front Desk of your Shanghai hotel to make sure you won't stand outside the hotel entrance with your luggage waiting for a taxi. The trip to Pudong Airport will take one hour at 150 -170 RMB and it needs a 20 minutes drive for the Hongqiao Airport at 30 RMB. Hotel shuttle buses are available every hour to the airport at 30 RMB per person. For details please contact the Front Desk of the hotel.
