In Beijing, coach busses are a common transportation alternative to trains. Beijing is a hub for ground transportation and has national highways which radiate to Shenyang, Tianjin, Harbin, Guangzhou, Zhuhai, Nanjing, Fuzhou, Kunming and other parts of China. Currently there are more than ten long distance bus stations in downtown Beijing and smaller stations in the suburbs. Among them, Zhaogongkou Long Distance Bus Station and Liuliqiao Long Distance Bus Station are the most highly rated. Keep in mind that you should arrive at coach stations early in order to purchase tickets without problems. Tickets are also sold on busses, which tends to be the most convenient way to buy your fare.

you can go to Beijing Zhaogongkou Long-distance Bus Station or Beijing Bawangfen Long-distance Bus station.
the bus departs at 16:00 from Zhaogongkou, and at 17:30 from Bawangfen. the price is CNY 350 for the bus departing from Zhaogongkou, and CNY 301 for the bus departing from Bawangfen.
it takes about 17 hours on the way.

Hi Fanz,
you can take a bus from Beijing Lizeqiao Long-distance bus station.
the bus departs from Beijing at 16:00 and arrives at Nanjing at 11:00 the next morning.
the ticket is CNY 269.

3 of us are trying to go from Beijing to Guiyang, Guizhou (or Kaili, Guizhou, or anywhere close enough) for the Spring Festival. Train tickets are sold out, and flying is too expensive. Can we get there by long-distance bus? It seems it would take multiple transfers. Thanks!

Seems no long-distance bus from Beijing to any city in Guizhou Province. Although the flight ticket is expensive, but no other ways now.

hey im staying in the holiday inn express on wangjing road i want to take a bus to xi'an from beijing the trains are all sold out this time and i dont know what station is closest to me. price doesnt matter as long as its close and it goes to xian i dont care

The bus stations are also crowded now because of the Spring Festival Rush, so you have to prepare yourself for a long time queue. I have checked it for you that it seems Liliqiao Long-distance Bus Station is the only station having buses to Xian.
Personally, I advise you take a flight instead.

Dear Beijing Trip staff,
I would like to take an overnight bus from Beijing to Harbin (departing 5th January, arriving 6th January). I am also returning to Beijing on the morning of the 9th January. Could you please tell me the prices and times for Beijing > Harbin and Harbin > Beijing?

I find that there are buses from Beijing Bawangfen Long-distance Bus Station to Harbin, but no on-line service for the ticket. It takes about 20 hours.
By the way, why not take a train? since it is safer to take a train for such a long trip.

Hello, we will travel thrue China september 2012. I read that the bus to Datong leaves from Liuliqiao Long Distance Bus Station. Can anyone tell me the earliest time, what the ticket costs and most important, can we purchase tickets in advance from Europe? Do we have to make reservations?

the earliest bus departing from Liuliqiao Long-distance bus station at 07:10. the cost is CNY 119 per person.
the bus ticket can be purchased at most 10 days in advance, and you can only buy them in Beijing city.
actually, you don't need to make reservations, coz the tickets can be bought when you are at the bus station.

Has anybody caught the bus from Liuliqiao long distance bus station lately? If so what is the price of an adult ticket to Hohhot, and what time does the bus leave Beijing? How long is the trip, and what time does the bus arrive in Hohhot?

the buses to Hohhot leave from Beijing hourly between 07:30 and 17:40.
the ticket for an adult is CNY 149.
it takes about 7 hours on the way.

Can I know where is the bus station from Beijing to Shenyang and is there a bus after 1 am.

There are buses from Liuliqiao, Xizhimen, Zhaogognkou and bawangfen long-distance bus station to Shenyang, but the last bus leaves at 22:00, no bus after 1 am.
