 Beijing Capital Intentional Airport (北京首都国际机场) The Beijing Capital International Airport, covering an area of about 900 hectares (2,224 acres), is located in the northeastern suburb, Shunyi District, Beijing of People's Republic of China. Built in 1968, the airport is approximately 30 kilometers (18.6 miles) from the famous Tiananmen Square, the center of the Beijing. Nanyuan Airport (南苑机场) Located in Fengtai District, the south part of Beijing, the Beijing Nanyuan Airport was formerly a military airport. In order to alleviate the congestion of the Beijing Capital International Airport, Nanyuan Airport became a commercial airport in October, 2005. In 2006, the airport had been enlarged and now it is well-equipped with ATMs, vending machines and packing machines. In Nanyuan Airport, you need not to wait in a queue or arrive at the airport one hour in advance for the normal procedures because there are always less people than the capital airport. At present, Nanyuan Airport has nearly 15 domestic air routes, including Wuxi, Dalian, Harbin, Hohhot, Chengdu, Ganzhou, Quzhou, Jingdezhen, Jiamusi and Chongqing.
