Nanyuan Airport (南苑机场)

Located in Fengtai District, the south part of Beijing, the Beijing Nanyuan Airport was formerly a military airport. In order to alleviate the congestion of the Beijing Capital International Airport, Nanyuan Airport became a commercial airport in October, 2005. It is about 13 kilometers (8 miles) from the city center-Tiananmen Square.

In 2006, the airport had been enlarged and now it is well-equipped with ATMs, vending machines and packing machines. You can buy the tickets only a few minutes before you departure.

Some of the routes are peculiar to this airport in Beijing. About 28 flights arrive or depart from here every day. In the future, more flights will arrive at or depart from this airport.
