hi jenny, there's flights between Guilin and the Philippines. i suggest you go to Xiamen first and then Guilin, and transfer to guangzhou for return flight to the Philippines.
from Xiamen to Guilin, you can take a train from Xiamen to Nanjing, and transfer to Guilin. or take a flight to Guilin directly.
from Guilin to Guangzhou, you can fly directly or take a train from Nanning to Guangzhou.
Nanjing is about 1 hour's drive away from Guilin.
We'll be there looking for Beijing Opera and other performances of traditional forms evenings of April 2 and 3 2011. What do you recommend, what's available then?
thanks
John

I think you may buy the ticket when you get there, but you'd better get there 1-2 hours in advance.
