Daily Itinerary Summary


Day 01: Entry Beijing 
Upon arrival at the airport, our professional local guide will pick you up there. On the way to the hotel, a brief introduction of the capital city will be given. Check into your hotel and enjoy the free time on your own.

Day 02:
Beijing  
The first arrangement this morning is to meet the other members of the group that are from all around the world but share the same taste on travel. Then the pre-tour briefing which includes some dos and donts will be given in the hotel. To begin with your memorable travel, you will visit the world famous Tian'anmen Square - one of the grandest city squares in the world. The Imperial Palace - known as the Forbidden City is arranged next, where you can sense the vicissitude of once feudal spelled country. After a couple of hours in the Forbidden City, you will be taken to the Temple of Heaven, which was the royal temple for the royal members to pray and worship for harvests and blessings to their people. As one of the most important parts to shape the present day Beijing - Beijing Roast Duck is something you can not miss. We serve roast duck at the Quan Ju De Restaurant, followed by the evening delight, Peking Opera, known as the national opera at Liyuan Theatre.

Day 03: Beijing  
The Great Wall is the top highlight of Beijing and of China, if there is only one thing you could expect to see in China, that is definitely the Great Wall. The truly magnificent Great Wall will be presented to you this morning as you travel Badaling section. After the decent lunch at a famous Sichuan food restaurant (not lunch site tourist restaurant), you will continue your visit to the Sacred Road and the Ming Tomb - one of the Ming Dynasty royal graves. The evening delight is the Cantonese Cuisine dinner in the top end restaurant in pedestrian Wangfujing Street, where you can take a leisure walk after dinner.

Day 04:
Beijing Xian  
After the visit to the royal garden - the Summer Palace and the lovely Pandas in Beijing Zoo, your Beijing trip will end by taking an afternoon flight to the ancient city - Xian. Our professional guide will expect you at the exit terminal of the airport and transfer you to your hotel. On the way to the downtown, the guide will make a brief presentation of the history of the city. The welcome dinner will be served at your hotel valued at CNY168.00 per person, buffet style.

Day 05: Xian  
A wonderful journey today eastwards will take you to a genuine Qin Terra Cotta Warriors and Horses Museum tour. Drive back by highway for a decent lunch in the downtown area. Afternoon delights include the visit to the Peasant Painting Gallery, the Big Wild Goose Pagoda and the well-preserved ancient City Wall. The local special Dumpling dinner is scheduled followed by the marvelous Tang Dynasty Music and Dance Show.

Day 06: Xian 
This morning you will visit the Provincial History Museum, which is one of the top museums in China both by scale and by the quantity and quality of its collections. You will be offered chance to order your own food again for lunch, which valued at CNY80.00 per person. The afternoon is customized to visit the Great Mosque and walk around the Bazaar for leisure. The various sorts of souvenirs there may activize your interest. The same valued a la carte dinner will be offered at a popular Sichuan cuisine restaurant.

Day 07: Xian Dunhuang  
Head for Dunhuang by morning flight and our local guide will expect you at the exit of the Dunhuang airport. Check-in procedure will be follow by visit to a short camel-riding along the Echoing-Sand Dune to reach the precious oasis of the desert, the Crescent Lake.

Day 08: Dunhuang
Turpan  
Have a visit to the Mogao Grottoes and the Dunhuang Museum. After the dinner, see off for the soft sleeper train to Turpan.

Day 09: Turpan  
Our local guide will meet you at the train station. Check in and have your breakfast at our well-picked hotel. Start travel to the Jiaohe Ruins, which is the largest, oldest and best-preserved earthen city in the world, and then go ahead to visit a local Uygur family and have a lunch there. Afternoon is scheduled to visit he underground Great Wall - the Karez Well and the Astana-Karakhoja Ancient Tombs.

Day 10: Turpan Urumqi Kashgar
The whole day visit comprise the most valuable Buddhist cave in Turpan - the Bizaklik Thousand Buddha Caves, the Gaochang Ruins, and the wonder - Flaming Hill. Drive you to the Urumqi and head for Kashgar by flight. Be met to check in the hotel and now you're on the pearl of the Ancient Silk Road.

Day 11: Kashgar   

Today, dense local culture and various religious rituals will be present to you as you visit to the Id Kah Mosque, the Abakh Khoja Tomb and the Old Street. Further touch the local resident's life by visit to the Ethnic Minority kindergarten and have communication with the lovely children there.

Day 12: Kashgar  Urumqi  
The visit to Sunday Market will show you the way how the resident deals in daily life.
After lunch take flight to Urumqi and transfer to the hotel.

Day 13: Urumqi Shanghai 
Conclude your silk road tour by boarding your flight to Shanghai. Be met and checked in the hotel. Go along the Nanjing Road and walk leisurely at the Shanghai Bund to see the striking contrast along the two sides of the Huangpu River.

Day 14:
Shanghai 
Your Shanghai city tour package will continue as you visit to the Shanghai Museum, which is the top museum in China. Following visit the Yuyuan Garden. Then, you will have a chance to get close touch with the native residents by going to a local family. Dinner will be served at a fancy restaurant named Wang Bao He, which is the best place to sample Shanghai cuisine. The evening delight is the Portman Acrobatic Show held at the Shanghai Center Theatre. The guide will say bon voyage to you after see you into the hotel lobby.

Day 15: Shanghai/ Exit
After breakfast, you will travel to the airport for your homeward flight by yourselves. However, should you wish to stay on rather than return home right away, we would suggest you choose our City Tour Packages as an extension to your China adventure!

Important note:

To the airports:
Shanghai has two airports: Hongqiao Airport (9 miles (15 km) west of the center of Shanghai) and Pudong Airport (19 miles (30km) southeast of Shanghai). Please make sure you go to the right one for departure.

Best way to Airports:
Beijing Trip suggests you book a taxi at the Front Desk of your hotel (Sofitel Hyland Hotel) to make sure you won't stand outside the hotel entrance with your luggage waiting for a taxi. The trip to Pudong Airport will take about one hour at 150 -170 RMB and it needs a 20 minutes drive for the Hongqiao Airport at 50 RMB. Hotel shuttle buses are available every hour to the airport at 50 RMB per person. For details please contact the Front Desk of the hotel.
